ohh yeah. i fed roswell his first pre-killed meal tonight. we were going to feed both snakes, but roo's eyes were a pearly blue color, so we put her back in the tuperware hide to rest. i put the mice in a box and used the dry ice method. basken robins sells dry ice for 2 bucks a pound, so we got 1 pound.. i now know this is too much. it took the mice a while to die. i heard them walking around, then i heard a small thump. i blew away the fog and saw them laying on the cardboard twitching, so i let the fog take over again. there was a whole lot of fog too. i left the mice in for about 5 minutes. when i tried to feed roswell he seemed to be smelling around for it, and feeling for it, but he could not pin-point it. i think this was due to the coldness of the mouse body. i gently dragged the mouse by its tail around the cardboard box that roswell was in ( not the same boxes), and it took him a whle to find it. when he did take his first strike i jumped instictivly, even though i had foot long tongs. i am not used to feeding a striking snake pre-killed. the second time he struck it in the throat and coiled perectly into a tiny ball around the mouse. after a minute he let go and chowed down. no problems. sadly for the second mouse we found out roo was soon to shed after they were gased. the brave little soul got a nice plot under our palm tree.
Godspeed little fella'
