50 shades of gray.... corn snakes.

Earlier this year I decided to be foolish. I bred a trio of aneries het hypo charcoal moonstone together, and out of the 16 eggs hatched these 4 gray things. I was delighted, and thought I had them well pegged when they hatched.

*throws hands up in air* But now they've all shed, and I'm only certain about two of them and why must all the grays be so similar and make my life so difficult and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah....

    *ahem*

So. All 4 of my headaches are back under one roof, as I was babysitting the snake I gave to my boyfriend's brother. And thus, I determined pictures were in order.

    So.

This is Bismuth. She is the *other* charcoal moonstone I hatched out, she has a super slight kink that you can't even see.

She's nice and dark, and super pretty and shows off all 3 genes quite well.

    "nomnom marble"

But then.... then there's her next to Galena, the first charcoal-moonstone I hatched. Both of these are girls. They were light enough at hatching that you could see through their tails and the lack of hemipenes. Only now Galena is significantly lighter than Bismuth.

Galena on the left, Bismuth on the right:

    And Galena by herself:

    Sooooo pretty!

So after the sisters meeting, I decided to pull out Oroboss, the only male of the 4 gray-things. I had originally pegged this one as a moonstone. Not to sure about that anymore.

My light started fading a bit though.

    Galena is on top:

    Oroboss, like a boss.

So, with confusion... I pulled out the hypo moonstone, who is a female.

HM on left, Oro on the right.

He's definitely darker than she is. Hmmn.

    HM in shade:

    HM in the light:

So yeah, headaches from the lot of them... but pretty headaches!

Thanks guys! The real fun will be in 3 years' time when Oroboss and Galena breed. Trying to figure those out.... urgh... I know that at minimum those babies will be moonstones.
