    Reptile Abuse Video on Huffpost

I couldn't even press the play button:

    "Decapitated Snake Bites Itself"

Supposedly the snake was a copperhead (didn't watch to verify) and because it was in the woodpile, killing it was necessary to protect child and dog. Lots of comments about the dangerous "poisonous" snake.

Would a news outlet show a video of a decapitated puppy?

Idiot. I hate videos like that. He's laughing and having a good time while he watches this poor little thing just squirm and die.

It's one thing to protect your family, but that snake could of been relocated and even humanely killed instead of letting it suffer. I wish that snake would of bit the guy and some amazing way him break both of his legs and not be able to speak while he suffers from the bite. I agree with the machete thing. I just looked him up on facebook, not sure if it's actually him or not but if I see the same state then I'm going to give him a piece of my mind and I won't watch my tongue.

I think you guys are getting carried away. Wishing harm on someone for that is inappropriate. I'd have killed it. Wouldn't even think twice about it. The guy isn't a part of our culture so you can't expect him to behave as we would. And comparing a puppy to a snake is no comparison. But I am sure if it was a decapitated wolf or coyote biting itself there'd be a video of that. I know we love snakes and all here but I think some of you are just too sensitive about some things.

I would never actually do something like that, would I really want life in jail for something so minor? Just in the moment. Sorry if I offended anyone

Well that's your opinion and your entitled to it. But as stated previously, it presented no immediate danger to the family, could have been relocated or simply left alone. The laughter at its decapitated actions was grossly unnecessary.

Unless we were in immediate harm, I wouldn't kill a venomous snake. If I was able to take proper precautions and move it out to a safe location, I would.

However, I'm not above killing it if it's gong after me, my dog, or my family and there is no time to go get a shovel or bucket.

Would I feel bad? Probably. But as much as I love snakes, my family and dog come first.

X2! The laughter is what frustrated me, there is no need for the commentary or laughter, or even filming it IMO.

While I did not click on the link because I knew it would hurt my heart I would like to comment on the fact that where I live in Upstate NY we have Copperheads, Rattlesnakes, and Cottonmouths and even before I became a snake lover we never killed the snakes in our yard just to protect ourselves! People that laugh and use these snakes as comedy or as badges of honor should be introduced to a world without them, a world where the rodents they kill run all over their homes carrying hantavirus and the plague and then they will wish they didnt kill a snake for the fun of it or just because it was a snake!
