Sad day..
Hello,
I just got back from the vets for the 6th time, my beloved Red tail boa that I have had for 10 years is at his end... his liver is failing & his lungs are starting to, he is having a hard time breathing, and looks like he is in so much pain... he is 8 1/2 feet, 35 pounds, I have over $3,000 in Vet bills, & I want to euthanize him to put him out of his misery.. the vets are charging $500 to, & I don't have that money anymore... Is that a easy, painless, non gory way to euthanize him? I want to remember him how he was 10 years ago when I got him when he was just 8 inches long.. Boswer, my boa, means the world to me, I hate to see him like this..
Thank you..

Re: Sad day..
That is sad but it sounds like you did all you could for him.
Don't let him suffer whatever you decide.
May both of you find peace.

I'm sorry to hear this
Have you checked other vets in your area that are experienced enough to euthanize him and see what their costs are?

Sorry you have to go through this. I just had to put my 9 yr old Boxer down last month so I know how hard it is. The only thing that will get you through it is to remember you are being a good owner by ending the misery. No animal should be put through extra pain because we can not let go.
That seems like a high price for euth. I never had to do it for a snake but for my large dog it was only $120.

Thank you, & they are the only vets, I live out in the boonies.. I just feel so bad for him..

It hardly seems fair that you spent $3000.00 with them and they wont lower their price to end his suffering or work out some kind of payment plan. My heart breaks for you.

where are you located and whats the name of the place? I wonder if they would set up something to take donations towards the procedure? Have you contacted any local rescues to see if they can help? Sometimes they have vets on staff that could do it for cost? Its worth a shot.

See if they'll take payments too

Re: Sad day..
Try looking into Care Credit. See if they will take that for payment. Sorry about your baby.
If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies.
