    confused

so i picked up my first burm about three 1/2 months ago when i first got her she acted like a typical baby burm does very vocal and nippy. with some work and handling i was able to calm her down and handled her regularly. i kept her in a 41 qt tub in my rack now that she is bigger about 3-4 feet now i moved her to a 75 gallon to free up room in my rack and while i build her new enclosure. since then she has become very aggressive striking at the glass the minute i walk into the snake room and she is clear on the other side of the room. i keep her well fed and all of the husbandry is to spec. also when i pick her up she does not calm down at all she stays very tense and in striking posture. any advice? do you think she will calm down with some work again? is it the change in scenary that has her in an uproar?

How many hides are you providing her? And has your handling sessions dropped down any since the new change of scenory? Also do you have 3 of the 4 glass sides covered in order to make the burmese feel more secure? I've seen this happen, moving snakes from a 41 qt to a glass front PVC enclosure, and they get a lot more agressive when they see you walk by. It may not be anything new - it may just be the fact that you now are seeing how they react, vs the rack where you dont see their reaction. Likewise, could also be that the snake is just behaving how it would if it was able to see you walk in while it is in the rack. The rack is not very "seeable" for the snake to visible see you. So it also adds to the "calming" security effect. Should calm down with age and handling. Just have to stick with it.

    Re: confused

i have a hide on either end and three out of the 4 sides are covered and its like a switch flipped when i put her in there she just became aggressive almost instantly within the first hour of moving her in there. and it is deffinately new bc she was never aggressive when i handled her and now she is just one pissed off little girl haha even when im holding her she doesnt calm down at all she just stays tense and she will even strike
