How long has it been out of the freezer? If it was in there overnight or something, I'd say throw it away. I haven't had to refreeze yet, so I don't know, but I think some people have said you can put it back in the freezer once and then thaw it again later, but if he still doesn't eat it a second time, throw it away. Others can clarify that though.

Jojo's probably still healing, right? Give him more time, I'm sure he'll eat for you again.

If you bought a live one and wacked it yourself, go for it depending on how long you left it in there. I'd be warry of freezing a rat that was left in overnight ( dont know how fast decomposure sets in ). If it was f/t, same thing. I wouldn't refreeze it more than once tho. I've heard horror stories of exploding rats, besides that the dead rodent probably cant take too many drastic changes in temperature while still staying "fresh".

Oh, I wasn't thinking it might have been p/k as opposed to f/t. Anyway, I agree with what led said.

I whacked it myself just before i was going to feed Jojo. It never sat in his enclosure i feed with tongs. I put the rat in a ziploc bag and stuck it in the freezer is that ok? Might try and feed again either tonight or tomorrow. He is going to shed very soon he eyes are blue. Maybe that is why he wont eat.
    Thanks,
    Damien

The rat should be just fine in there until you are ready to try feeding again, as long as you dont mistake it for food in the middle of the night . He may not want to eat while he is in blue. Snakes tend to feel vulnerable in this stage because they cannot see all that well.

Mmm... I tried feeding Ippo a rat yesterday. He would come right up to it, very interested, but wouldn't strike. I'm not sure if it was because it was a rat, or just because it was too big though. Either way, I've stuck the rat back in the freezer and am going to try with a smaller one in a few days.

Its so weird he has never refused a meal. I am really going to have to reconsider the housing or something to make him more comfortable. I am building a rack very soon so maybe the underbed storage box will make him feel more comfortable. I did move the location of the enclosure to the other room so maybe he needs some time to adjust.
    Thanks,
    Damien

Ozzy was a pistol tonight to get to eat. He always "bang" right on it but tonight it took about 20 mins and he finally struck as he was heading up the side of the box trying to get out. I actually saw his mouth open before the srtike. He was kinda slow tonight. Then tried to eat butt first but finally after about an hour he was done.
I was about to give up. I thought maybe because of being in his new house threw him off.

Give him a few days and try again. Good Luck
