umm, double-recessive VPI axanthic + Hypo?

I guess for that you need to filter all breeders you can see yourself buying from for these that work with both of the recessive projects you wish to combine, and ask them.

With ball pythons, double recessives is a different story compared to for example corn snakes, because clutch sizes are small and it takes long for babies to reach reproductive age, also most breeding revolves around codominant gene combinations and super forms.

You can get meaningful market prices only if several breeders produce the combo in question in meaningful quantities. I know that albino axanthics and albino pieds and axanthic pieds have enough breeders working wih them so that you can get something like market quotes. But i am not so sure about axanthic hypos. Better find all breeders within reach that work on both recessive projects and establish a direct connection to them and make sure they know you want one.

An arm and a leg, and possibly some toes from the remaining foot.

Seriously though, considering what the other axanthic double recessives go for, if you can even find them for sale in an open forum, I would expect $8k+.

    Re: True ghost value?

To clarify... Establish direct contact with breeders that can do it and have both genes in their collection. Be in touch. Keep close contact with breeders that could produce them, or are producing them, or have one.

You need to be on the waiting list when the female lays the clutch. Even better, the breeder needs to be aware of what you want when deciding which males to breed to which females.

And yes, i mean, the price is unknown because these snakes get sold so rarely, but the higher 4-digit numbers seem plausible. Albino pieds are i think the most traded visual double recessive, what does a visual albino pied go for? Here you can get real market quotes.

If you have the right connection at the right time and drink a beer with the right person, maybe you can get one for 1500 or 3000, if you are willing to wait for a few years. If you want one soon, then the number someone else threw in, 8000, is plausible.

Its high-end stuff, traded generally from breeder to breeder only, and you want in. Starting from scratch it requires a minimum of 2 generations and odds of 1/16 need to be beaten. (1 egg out of 16 eggs will show the double-recessive when breeding double het to double het).
