    Dinkasaurus - GENETIC

Since I have proved that the "Dinkasaurus" male is genetic, I though creating a new thread to document the gene as it develops would be best.

The gene is likely in the Ivory/Super Stripe complex, and at the very least should prove to be a new line of Yellow Belly.
Going forward, the breeding plan is to hold back all offspring, grow out the females that show the gene, and breed them back to their father (or possibly a combo male with the father's genes). I will also be pairing the founding male to an Ivory to prove the gene is compatible/allelic with Yellow Belly.

The original Dinkasaurus thread can be found HERE for those who are unfamiliar with this project.

As promised, here are some photos taken with a proper camera.
I tried not to bother them too much since they were still in the process of crawling out of the eggs, so the photos were somewhat rushed. I am mores o looking forward to taking post-shed photos.

    Thumbs up

I cannot remember and forgive me if you already said this in the other thread but was this the only clutch due this season for the DSR? (DinkaSaurusRex?) Or did you breed him to another female? I think you need to take him to an ivory or yb girl congrats again!

He sired one clutch this season, and was bred to two normal females.

I have an ivory girl lined up for the upcoming breeding season. That should give me more insight into what his gene is capable of. I am preparing myself to see ivories, and declare him a new line of YB, but if something a little different comes out of it, that would be fantastic!

Either way, I have a feeling this gene (even if it is only a new line of YB) will be more dramatic when mixed with other morphs like pastel, cinnamon, enchi, etc than your standard or other expensive lines of YB.

    Time will tell!

    Final numbers are in!

We hit 4.2 of the morph, and 0.1 normals. I am happy to have 2 females to grow out for future projects, and 4 males to watch grow up and compare to their father.

Here are some post shed pics, including the ones requested.

    The founding male:

    The morph offspring:

The morph offspring next to normal sibling:

And lastly, the morph offspring next to the founding male:
