    the fast is over! :)

My snake hasn't eaten since May 25th. He refused 3 times then went into shed. Didn't offer anything for 2 weeks. Put a rat in today and BAM he took it instantly! So freakin happy right now!

Don't mean to hijack the thread but I'd rather not start a new one.

I know BP fasting is normal, but when should it become a concern? My female BP hit 900g mid March, and stopped eating since then. She is down to around 820 grams.
All husbandry is fine and nothing has changed.

I personally would be concerned with an 80g loss. 2 of mine fasted for pretty much 5 months and only 1 of them lost anything (20g) and I'm pretty sure it was her big poop. Have you tried feeding live? Sometimes that will kickstart their feeding response again. Worked for me.

    And to OP, congrats!
I definitely know how exciting that is. Boys can definitely be darn picky.

Yes, I feed my BP live. I'm considering trying mice this week, maybe she prefers those. But regularly, she's on live small adult rats. She doesn't LOOK too bad - her spine isn't really bulging out and she doesn't have that triangular shape.. yet.

jeez, how much weight has he lost? has his behavior changed? I feel my girl never comes out anymore, and just looks really dull.
