Candled Egg: Day 26 in the incubator

So I cleaned the ASF tubs and candled some eggs tonight. Bet you can't guess what was more rewarding! haha

I know it is only one photo, but I am always so amazed watching eggs develop from day one all the way until they hatch!

    Day 26 of development.

How often is it safe to candle eggs? Is it safe to candle once a week or should I just leave them alone in the incubator?

You can candle as much or as little as you want. Candling them won't help you save them if they are dying so it doesn't really matter if you candle them or not. I candle when I put them in to see if they are good. Then I candle again at the end to see what the patterns are

Stephanie is right. We don't mess with our eggs too much though, but when do our weekly air exchanges we'll toss a lamp on the eggs and take some pictures.

    Great shot.

We usually candle ours about once a week. Our kids love to see it, especially once they can see the baby moving inside. We keep it pretty quick and it doesn't hurt anything.

Thanks Jay! Yeah, the kids must love it! Our little guy is only 2 months old, but I already can't wait to share this fascinating hobby with him!

Re: Candled Egg: Day 26 in the incubator

Candling helps me with the wait but I font want to cause issues by doing it to much. That's why I asked. Thank you for putting my mind at ease. I candled last weekend and saw banding pattern on my pastel pastel clutch I'm hoping for some super pastels.
