Finding a Reputable BP Dealer

I had everything planned for my new BP that I was going to buy from Backwater Reptiles, until I read about all of the customers receiving bad service and some unwholesome actions on behalf of "Sam," the sites creator. Now I'm having trouble finding a reputable online captive-bred BP dealer. I'm looking to buy a male hatchling, and second to me being able to trust the sellers, I'd like a fair price. Can Anyone provide a suggestion?

I'd browse through Fauna Classifieds and Kingsnake Classifieds for a male you like and search the seller on Fauna's Board of Inquiry before purchasing.

There are many reputable breeders out there (which I prefer to buy from over the big dealers/companies); you just need to check references.

Look at Garrick Demeyer at Royal Constrictor Designs. Just recieved my mojave from him and he is awesome and in perfect health. Heard many great things about him as well.

You can also persue the For Sale section here at BP.net. You can look for other posts by the selling member, search for them in the Inquiries/Feedback section, or post asking for feedback if they don't have any.

Finding a reputable breeder is very important. As mentioned above, check out the for sale section on this forum and look at the breeder's feedback. However, I always like to check my local area first including herp shows. If you are set on buying from a big level breeder, Garrick is good and I also highly recommend Justin Kobylka. I have found that I prefer working with a lot of small to mid level breeders personally. If it is a new breeder to you, try calling or emailing them and asking questions. You will get a feel if they really know and care about their animals and their condition. Good luck!

A few things that would be helpful is to know you're location because you may have a good breeder nearby that you can visit. Also what kind of male hatchling, they have tons of different morphs and a general price range. All of these would help us help you.

I got stuff from Garrick also he is a great guy gave me a good price because my wife is military and he also does payment plans if you need to and answers any question you may have

Yea Garrick is a great guy and communicates well through email. I like that he told me what my snake was feeding on, how many times he ate, his weight and DOB. And he provides individual pictures of each snake which you usually do not get with larger breeders with a lot of snakes. And plus his snakes are very healthy since I know many people who buy from him.

X2 for Justin Kobylka. Got somes snakes from his a few months ago and from my first email until the snakes arrived he answered all my questions andwas very easy to do business with. Plus he has very healthy animals. Currently doing business with Garrick Demeyer and so far he has been great. Cant wait to get my snake.
