Male or Female?
I've had my BP for about a year now, but I'm still not sure whether it's male or female. I've been referring to a 'he'. I know the most accurate way is by probing or popping, but are there other ways? I've heard that you can tell by tail or spur length, but I don't want to go on bad information.
Opinions? Advice?

I don't think there's enough difference in spur length to say one way or the other. I'm sure some of the vets here could tell just by looking at the tail though. There are differences there that are noticeable...mostly shape/thickness and how it tapers...

Male or Female?
No, only popping or probing. Unless you have access to an ultrasound machine, I guess.

What sort of differences in the tail? What sort of tapering/length suggests male or female? Monty is the only BP that I have, so I don't have any others to compare to.

I was refering to the guys/gals who have sexed thousands of balls, either by popping or probing, and have noticed a correlation with how the tail is shaped. The tails of males and females will be shaped a little differently due to how the hemipenes in the male are situated alongside the tail. From what I understand, males will have thicker tails on the sides (where the hemipenes are) than females, who will be a little more slender in this area as they aren't packing "junk". I can't tell the difference, but there are pro's who can, and they're probably pretty accurate.

Thank you very much! I'll try to find a local professional who can tell.
