getting a new tank

well, next tuesday ill be getting a new tank for rex. best part, i dont have to pay. its my cousins old iguana cage. its made out of wood, with sliding glass doors on front. my question is, what should i use to clean it? and now that i convinced my mom into letting me get another snake, im thinking of getting a blood python. what size enclosure would i need for an adult blood?

Adult bloods have a WIDE turning radius so they need a good bit of floor space, 12 sq ft is usually reccomended with no less than 3' or so on the shortest side (so 3x4 would work).

On cleaning the cage you are getting - has the wood been sealed with anything?

Assuming it is sealed, Virusan or diluted bleach solution. If the wood isn't sealed it's probably absorbed and could be hosting some nastiness and would be very difficult to clean thoroughly much less rinse well.

well my cousin said it was varnished on the inside so it wont rot...
