    Retained Egg Aspirated by Vet!

I started this thread a couple weeks ago about a female who retained an egg after laying a bunch of slugs.

After a week and a half it was time to call the vet and have the egg aspirated. Jason Olech of Chicagoland Mobile Veterinary Services performed the procedure and it went really well! She should pass the egg within 48 hours, if not.. surgery might be on the agenda.

They did an ultrasound to get the exact location of the egg.

    Everybody grab on!

Thats a lot of egg goo!!

I'll keep you guys updated! This girl will be on a month of antibiotics to make sure she doesn't get an infection. Can't wait to poke her with more needles...

Thank you for sharing! Very interesting and I hope she passes that egg for you soon.

I hope I'm not the only one that noticed the vet is pretty hot.

It was a really interesting process! I was warned it was "graphic", but it wasn't so bad . Starbuck (the snake) did very well and actually only hissed for her antibiotic shot.

I was very thankful that the vet allowed us to take pictures I thought it would be very beneficial to other BP keepers if they ever needed to get this procedure done.
