I'll have a boa on the rocks! New Barranquilla, Colombian treat.

Sounds like a great summer drink, but it's just my boa. We tried some new pics yesterday and I am NOT very pleased with them, but I like photo threads so here he is,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Again LOL!

This last one is still on rock. It's actually granite from the Uba Tuba region of Brazil. It's called Verde Peacock. I guess it's OK to have a Colombian boa on Brazilian stone.

Gus Rentfro breeds some of the most beautiful locality boas I've seen.

I love the first photo and the profile/head shot. I think those are very nice!

And I agree about Gus. I'd like a Barranquilla myself, but I won't go anywhere but Gus (or Legacy since they work with Gus's stock).

Thank you for the photography compliment. I'm shooting "idiot auto" or macro so I get what I deserve. I want to take a photography class in the worst way. Time and the fact I'm still gimping around from my injury puts a damper on it. Although I think I could sit through a class for a couple hours.

You and I agree on Gus. The more I look at his boas, and the fact that he is so dedicated to the preservation of localities I just have a hard time not elevating him to "Boa God" status.

There are certainly others, but the work and publications Gus and Vin Russo have done are impressive. I think they've dedicated their lives to boa studies, breeding and preservation.

I only have one boa but want to learn all I can. I really wish they made programs specifically about boas on TV like they do lions and different species of sharks.

All the snake shows are sensationalized, overblown scare efforts for the most part. I'd like to see Mark O'shea back on TV or Austin Steven's or Steve Irwin (RIP). The snake programs usually have to cover multiple species and they only get an hour block.

Of course maybe nobody is into boas like we are.

Holy crap!!! I went off there LOL!

Glad you like the pics, and BTW Gus has Colombians on the ground!! They should be coming up on the first shed and I'll bet he starts to advertise soon.

Makes me wonder how long Miss Kali will go without another FED-X tracking # LOL!

I have been baaaaaadd this spring............

But I have to be careful - there's an outstanding breeding coming up for a Guyana true red tail from the breeders high pink matriarch - and this will be her last breeding. She is producing PINK offspring with aberrant patterns and RED tails. If I want one of her babies, I have to grab one this fall. Soooo.... probably no more fedex for me until fall - but then it's fair game...........

Btw, I miss those tv shows too - the ones you named and also Jeff Corwin - he was good too.

Oh yeah,, Jeff Corwin was funny!

There was a string of VERY good animal folks for a while there. Now its all drama and that's pretty sad.

I think you should go with the BCC. That is something you don't have, but I think you are due.

Your boa's pattern is so uniform! Great looking snake Gio. Cool pics, I like the second to last one the best.

Thank you. Those head shots can be fun, but he was moving a lot. Even the decent ones are out of focus a bit.

Rio Bravo Reptiles has a litter on the ground. I'll bet he posts a sale soon. They usually start at $150 and the most I've seen is $275.

Legacy Reptiles buys from Gus a lot so they will have them too.

Mine was from Legacy because Gus was sold out.

Legacy price included shipping in the cold, Gus does not have his calculated in the cost up front but its easy to figure out.

I think you NEED a boa like this. I need to see it in your AP cage.
