An excuse for a new animal

My wife works at a kahoots pet store and someone recently dumped this enclosure on one of their store's door steps. I ended up with it for free so I'm pretty happy =P It needs a lot of work but I think it will be worth it.

    It's 4' wide, 26" tall, and 18" deep.

When it's done what should I get for it?

Perferably something that won't outgrow it but depending on how cool it is I'm not totally against building it an adult enclosure while it grows.

The bottom left hand side has a huge water tub with a drain in it but it looks like the previous owner built the wood thing to turn it into a hide, probably because it leaks but I can fix that. They cut a hole in the right bottom to put a bowl in so there's plenty of room for something that likes water.

    Nice freebie.

The wife will probably want it as a planter. j/k.

My suggestions/what I would put in it:

    Red tail of some sort
    Carpet Python
    BRB

    Lol at the planter =P

she's actually pushing for her BRB to go in it and it is going to need a bigger enclosure soon but I've definitely been kicking around ideas of carpet pythons, water dragons, and things like that.

How long do you think a red rail would fit in there? Maybe a hogg island boa?

Awesome your wife wants to put her BRB in there, it would be perfect. I'd go that route so you can use the BRB's enclosure for a new snake of your own. A hogg island would probably be in there it's entire life. Depending on how fast a normal red tail grows, you could probably put one in there for 2-4 years? That's just a guess though.

My first pick would be a GTP, they spend most of their time off the ground and are very striking and colorful as a display snake. Second choice BRB.

ATB would also be cool, I saw a baby at an expo today. We were told that while many are a bit nippy or aggressive, this one was pretty laid back and very tolerant of being handled. I expect one day we'll be adding one to our collection.
