Finally!! Just had to give some praise!

I just want to SCREAM!! My female pastel (whom I'm hoping will breed for me next season,) finally ate. She's been hovering around 900 grams, and recently just dropped to 850 grams after dropping a deuce and pee. She FINALLY ate today. Small rat! Its been almost two months off feed. Hopefully i don't jynx her by putting up this praise.

i love this hobby! i think you can learn a lot from it about the snakes and about yourself, first big thing is Patience, and that these wonderful animals know what they're doing and can handle themselves. I know I do it too, (start to worry after 2 weeks of not eating or that their water hasn't gone down) but they're still going strong and you just learn to wait it out and go with the flow.

anyone else having any eating issues?

So glad she ate for you! I actually have a female het pied who had been off feed for about 3 months. Right around 500g. She has taken a f/t mouse the last 2 weeks! I have to sneak it in her tub quietly and leave it overnight. Working her back up to rats but as long as she is getting something in her I am good. I understand your excitement completely and I am glad our girls are getting back on track

2 month fast...thats cute! I wouldn't even really classify that as a fast. I have a spider male that went almos 7 months last year. That will stress you out! Awesome that shes back on feed tho. Its an awesome feeling!

Asking if anyone else is having eating issues is like asking contestants on The Biggest Loser, "is anyone else hungry?"

If your not having eating issues then you're probably not raising balls. My daughter's YB has been off feed since Jan 31. Each year he seems to go a little longer then the last. Two years ago 89 days. Last year he went 110 days. This year 131 days and counting. Hoping he starts back up pretty soon.

hahaha love the biggest loser comment. I guess you have a point. It's kind of like the old saying "Do bears crap in the woods?" hahaha thank you for the laugh! After these past few comments, two months really isn't all that bad. Hopefully it stays consistant though. Next week will be the true test.

I'm hoping for the same luck with my albino. It'll be five months as of the 15th. He's gone from 834 to 756.

Then there's my 1800g normal male that ate large rats weekly for a year with his old owner and now takes a medium when he feels like it. Sometimes weekly, sometimes monthly. He fasted for almost six months too. I don't worry about him because he's huge.
