Different species `hanging out`?
Ok, so I run a snake blog on tumblr, and every once in a while, i come across a photo of two different species of snakes hanging out. And by hanging out i mean just like adventuring around a room for example, but like very close, even going on top of each other. Ive seen pictures of a ball python and a burmese, and ive seen lots of other types hanging out. Is there a certain list of snakes that can hang out together? Or can all snakes tolerate each other? Or is it just plain not recommended at all? For example i have a ball python and my boyfriend has a salmon boa. Can they hang out?

Snakes don't like to "hang out" IMO - they aren't social. I don't have mine "play" with each other: I take one out at a time. I would put a couple ball pythons together though for a short amount of time for a photo shoot but I personally wouldn't cross species.
Also be weary of quarantine practices: never let a new snake touch/be in contact with existing snakes in case the new one(s) are ill. I QT new snakes in a whole different room than my established collection.

I don't recommend letting more than one snake at a time "hang out". I NEVER think it is a good idea to have animals of separate species around each other, regardless of the situation.

For photography in a controlled environment is about as close as I would get to letting snakes "hang out together", like the comparison photo I have of mine and my friends boa. They were both on my arms and my friend was using a small one-handed camera so he could grab a troublemaker if it was necessary (we also had followed QT and were being pretty careful anyways, but since we help each other out with maintenance, after the QT time we also assumed our collections probably have the same germs xD).
