    Which Thermostat

I was looking at a Hyrdofarm one and the only thing that stopped me from ordering it is it's for a heat mat. I'm wanting one for a UV Bulb, so it may or may not work but I figure somebody who may have it can chime in. I'm not a big fan of zilla or fluker's thermostats either so I'm open to suggestions. The only reason I'm doing this is because I'm going on vacation for three weeks and my mom is going to be watching over my snakes, so I want something to where she doesn't have to mess with any of the lighting. I already got one of the 24/7 timers so the bulbs go from day to night automatically, and this will be the last step. So tell me what thermostat you guys use and give me a link. Thanks.

Yea, but too expensive for my liking. I'm only going to use it for 3 weeks. Once I'm home they go back to the regulated room.

The hydrofarm would do fine for three weeks. Make sure to get the through amazon or so, so if it breaks they replace it.

It's meant for a heat mat, so I'm not sure if the max wattage would be okay for an overhead light. Mats and stuff are generally under 20 watts, while my bulb is 100w.

I believe it's rated in the 500s. Designed for many mats for seedlings.

Non of my UVs put off any heat.
If you are using the florescent style bulbs they might not even light.

Well when I said UV I was more or less referring to the day light basking bulb I use to mimic the Sun. Then at night the moon bulb goes on.

    EDIT:
Most of my heat comes from UTH's that are on a dimmer switch, but the overhead light does give about 10 -/+ when on or not on. I can do 80 with it off, and if it's on full blast it can do 90, though can be higher depending on the temp of the room. I keep it at about 85% so the basking is at 88.

The hydrofarm thermostat is an on/off style thermostat. It is rated for 1000 watts (8.3 amps @ 120 volts watts equals amps x volts), though I wouldn't trust one to pull a 1000 watts for an extended period of time.

What type of bulb are you using? an incandescent bulb, a fluorescent bulb, a halogen bulb, or some sort of HID arc bulb?

Why do you want to use a thermostat for the bulb but not for the heat mats that would benefit from a thermostat much more?

What are you using to measure temperatures in the cage? What type of substrate are you using, and how thick of a layer?
