When to start worrying? (Girl not eating)

I purchased this gorgeous albino female at the 5-19 reptile show. The day I purchased her she weighed 263 grams. The vendor had her on frozen thawed, and you can tell she was an eater.

I weighed her again on 5-22 (I weigh all my snakes on Wednesdays) she weighed 245 grams, but she also had a bowel movement too so weighing less was expected. My feeding days are Thursdays so I tried feeding her thinking no problem, she didn't strike, nor did she show any interest in the mouse.

I weighed her today, 5-29 and she weighs 239 grams. Since I work all day tomorrow I decided to feed a day early, everyone has eaten their meal then I get to her.

She's out exploring so I took her lid off got my 20 gram mouse out with tweezers and did the zombie walk right in front of her. Again nothing, no interest whatsoever she turned her head and started going the other way.

I know she's new, and it happens that a snake wont eat for awhile. But she's only 239 grams, nothing like my 1550 gram male I have. I'm a little worried about her. I want to make sure she's healthy and will eat for me.

Do you guys have any advice? Or any reassuring words? I'm starting to get a little stressed over it.

Could it be that a 20 gram mouse is too small for her? And she just wont take it? If that's the case what size, gram wise should she be eating? I'm looking at the medium mice on LLL, but I don't know. Any input would be appreciated.

They can go many weeks without eating. I would not handle her for a week and try again. You have quite a long time before you need to worry. Just leave her alone and let her settle in, she'll be fine.

Thanks for the reassurance, she's the only one in my collection that I don't handle. And that's because she hasn't eaten yet, once she starts eating I'll be handling her a lot more. The only time I've handled her is to get her weight, and that's it. She's out exploring every night too. Cage temps are 86-88 and humidity is at 56%. It's just stressful to me, I've never had a Ball Python refuse food for me (unless they were shedding).

leave her alone for about a week no handling, no feeding, no weighing just let her settle in or you will stress her out imo. after a week try feeding her, she will probably eat. good luck
