A little confused on the timeline

First off, I'm not necessarily new to this forum. I signed up a while ago and have just been browsing now. Collecting information and deciding if I would like to breed. Much deliberation and a severe bite of addiction and now I have a female that is 50/50 pregnant.

She is almost 4 years old, 1395 grams empty, and laid 8 eggs last season with a butter perfect ratio. My room is between 75-80 degrees during the day and drops to 70-75 during the night. Their warm spot is 90F. I keep her in a blacked out 41qt tub with only a small area left for light. She does not have a hide. Her water bowl is big enough for her to curl up in, kinda.

I bought her from a small time hobbyist breeder near me. He witnessed her lock up with a lesser several times. He said both the lesser and her are good consistent breeders and so more locks are almost guaranteed. The last visible lock was a little over a month ago. The original owner fed her the day before I got her, May 13. She had a visible lump from the feeding but the last 1/3 of her body seems much larger than the rest even now. Since receiving them I have not handled her aside from general husbandry. I don't know how to palpitate for ovaries so I'm not going to try until I feel comfortable. Both her and the male that came with her have been in quarantine. The male has eaten; the female flat out refused.

I check my snakes daily and handle all aside from her. On May 27, she was glowing, lumping, and had a tail suck. Today, May 29, she is sitting on the cool side of her tank, with slightly less visible lumps and the same tail suck. I have not noticed her wrapping herself around her water dish or laying inverted. She has not shed since I got her.

Now for my question. Is this the correct order of events?

My understanding is that the glowing, lumping, and tail suck come shortly before ovulation. After ovulation is pre-lay shed/soak. 25-30 days later is eggs. I visited the Markus Jayne website and read the breeding section there. I'm assuming that the pictures correspond with the time frame of events.

Or am I just overly excited and jumping to conclusions?

Any and all help is appreciated.

Also, how do I upload pictures? I'm adding them to my profile. Maybe I've just not posted enough.

Here's how to post pictures. Also the tapatalk app is great for posting pics.

If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies.

If she's still on the cool side I wouldn't think she has ovulated yet. Also, the lumping you describe says building to me, which means ovulation is still a little down the road. But, a good rule of thumb....plan for eggs 30 days after they shed if you're not 100% sure. That way you'll be ready and can throw them in the incubator right away.

As for the pictures, that thread will tell you everything. Short version, upload your pictures to photobucket then copy paste the IMG Code into your post.

Thank you kindly for the help. She's still at it I'll plan for a clutch 30 days after shed. Hopefully I'll get to see her ovulate. Toyota89 very useful picture!
