Incubator temperature and humidity

I finally have my first clutch of eggs. I bought the accutemp 6000 from Big Apple and I have the temps set at 89. I have a temp prob in the egg tub as well. The temperature is displaying 89 but the egg tub temp is reading 85. Is this ok? Im not sure what to do. Thanks

The tub itself is 85? How are you measuring that and with what? Whats the name of the temp probe inside the tub? As long as the temps INSIDE the tub is around 88.4 degrees, your good. My incubator is always at around 89.0... inside the egg tubs are 88.4, give or take a couple points.

You want the temp inside the egg tub to be 88-89 (or whatever temp you are aiming for). I put the thermostat probe in an egg tub with water and perlite, with or without eggs, doesn't really matter. That way my thermostat adjusts the temp for the egg tub rather than the air in the incubator.

Also, do you have a fan in your incubator? You need a fan to circulate the air, that will help keep the temps stable from top to bottom.
