I'm pretty sure red tail boas can be either BCI or BCC with BCCs being the 'true red tails' such as Surinames and BCIs being things like Colombians.

If you're talking about the little albino you bought I can guarantee its a BCI Colombian. BCC albinos are still a very rare.

Yup, she's a BCI. Colombian boas are not really "red-tailed boas". This term is reserved for the [I]Boa constrictor constrictor/I]. The various sub-species fall short in the tail department, lol. And most breeders working with BCCs are very cautious to keep the localities pure - as such there is not a lot of crossing with BCIs to blend various genetics into the BCCs. There are a few naturally occurring morphs in BCCs and there are a few breeder who are willing to do crosses (thus enter the albino and hypo genes for example), but nearly anytime you have an albino or other morph in boas, it is almost certainly a BCI. Hope that made sense, lol......

I love iHerp, but that is one thing that irritates me - you have to start typing in "common northern boa...." for it to pop up. I'd rather be able to put in the scientific name "boa constrictor imperator...." That way, I'd know I was entering the right species.
