    Finally dropped!

Finally after months of waiting to see that infamous pear shape it happened and she dropped her first ever litter of 16! Thought that was pretty impressive for a first litter. Sadly I lost one a couple days ago due to I believe getting buried in the beeding, so I took out most of it so they were easier to locate for mom. They are growing like champs and I will attach a few picrtures of them from day one to now. They are starting to get their skin color and soon should start fuzzying up. I now know why people end up loving rats so much, they are just so darn cute!

    Thanks for looking,
    Kevin

Haha. I was giving mama some down time away from them yesterday and had her in another tank with the male and she escaped at some point. I found her using her squealing babies lol.

Give her a sheet or 2 of newspaper to use as nesting material. She will build them up a nice little nest and they won't get buried. It will also help her feel more secure with the babies and she'll calm down some.
