probe wont fit for rack
I have a herpstat and a rack. Im supposed to put this probe on the heat tape on the inside of rack from what i've been reading.
I cant do that because the heat tape is enclosed, the only visable heat tape is where it jumps levels/shelves then its encased again.

the inside is smooth, no visable heat tape.
So if i place probe on outside where heat tape is, it will be a bad reading because its exposed to room temps right? It wont fit in the slit.
Should i place it in the inside where the tub sits?

Re: probe wont fit for rack
Is there a hole in the back of the rack to run cords through? If there is, run the probe through there to the middle rack anc secure it on the heat tamp as close to the wall of the rack as possible so the tub won't catch on it and dislodge it.

No, if i want to play touchy feely with heat tape; i only have those 2 parts that are on the outside...as pictured above...so i would have to tape it/foil it but i feel like it would hold heat...and im not trying to repeat other peoples experience
I have zero access to heat tape other than that...no holes or anything.
Cord is on the outside

Re: probe wont fit for rack
What is the rack made of? You can always drill a hole in the back of the rack in order to secure the probe
