Neuro Issues in Sable?
I'll be buying a Sable male het Hypo from Jon Courtney in a week and he mentioned issues in both super sables and spiderXsable crosses. Does anyone have any experience with this themselves?

Re: Neuro Issues in Sable?
Nerd has a video on lethal combos on youtube and they talk about super sables and sable spiders being wonky. It's a good video to check out...both part 1 and 2.

Re: Neuro Issues in Sable?
i never heared about problems with single-gene sable, unless combined with a different gene that has the wobble.
super sable is listed as having a wobble, just like spider or champagne or woma or hidden gene woma. Here it would be interesting to know how bad it is compared to the spider wobble. If its comparable to the spider wobble, that wouldnt be a strong reason to avoid producing them. It just says wobble, not severe wobble.
and sable spider, well, not good, listed as "Difficult to hatch, severe wobble". And in the NERD-videos, its one of those things where they basically say: "weve been there, done that, learned our lesson, wont do it again, learn from our mistakes if you want to".
since champagne x spider is listed as "lethal" and champagne x hidden gene woma as "severe wobble", just to be on the safe side i wouldnt combine sable with any gene that is known for the wobble, or at least find people that actually did it and that can convince you that the specific combo is safe. However the general trend seems to be: Combine two genes that have any wobble issue, and you run into trouble.
That would be my summary of the general forum and internet wisdom on the issue.
And now lets hope that some people respond that actually have hands-on experience with super sables, or combos involving sable and a different gene that has a wobble issue. I guess many people just stay away after NERD exposed some of the lethal or risky combos and after other breeders confirmed some of it.

Jon has said that he produced one super sable that was a runt and didn't survive. My whole reason for getting into sable is to make a super sable pin, as they look amazing! I too read that super sable has a wobble issue but not that it was anywhere near to being on par with any lethal combos or even as bad as super cinny. Thanks for the replies thus far. I've done my reseach online but wanted to hear directly from someone with hands on experience.
