    Targeting trouble in tubs?

Since I moved the majority of my collection to tubs I've noticed that they seem to have a harder time hitting their target when I feed them. Got my first bite from my pastel missing his mark and tagging my thumb instead.

I feed them in their tubs, don't want to stress them out anymore with moving them and it hasn't presented a problem yet. I'm wondering if this bad aim is something I should worry about.

    Hmmm,

Maybe try heating the head of the prey more and feed using longer tongs?

I'm not really worried about the bite. It was my fault, I was holding the mouse and my phone rang and I dropped my hand too low when I turned to look at it. I've been checking the temp of the mice and they're between 94 and 98. You think they need to be heated more than that?

Since the snake is missing the mouse, it doesn't hurt to try going even hotter than that to see if it helps.

    Targeting trouble in tubs?

The normal body temp of a small rodent is around 100 more if they are afraid.

I always heat to 100-102. He got your thumb, do you not use tongs? I was under the impression that since mine have been in tubs their aim and feeding habits in general have been better. Could just be in my head.

I do use tongs, but when I turned my head to look at my phone my hand prob dropped a few inches. Bad timing.

I'll definitely heat them up a bit more and see if that fixes it.

Will do. I was slightly worried that it had something to do with them being in tubs, but now that I think of it two of them went from tub to bag to tub. The other two had been in glass tanks.
