    Hogg island Boa

I've been looking into getting a snake, I personally love boas, only kind of snake i will really go with. I have fallen head over heals for the hogg island boas, I think they are gorgeous.
But ive been looking and reasearching then trying to find out everything I can before taking the step to go get one. I have had boas before. I grew up with snakes, always had a boa in the house. was just wondering if anyone has one and if they would reccommend them. It would be a great help! thanks.

I have a hog island cross (hypo hog). Great snake, to me has the typical boa attitude. He is 3 years old and about 4.5 feet in length. Unsure of his weight .

    Re: Hogg island Boa

Check it out, I have one of both. My hog is pure 100% hog island, and my dumerils as well. Both of them, in my opinion, are very beautiful snakes. I suggest either one, they both have awesome temperament, but the bci is a little cage aggressive at first, took time and she never strikes at me. The dumerils on the other hand, was docile from day 1, sweet little.....then huge snake lol.

    Re: Hogg island Boa

Hog Islands are ideal if you want one of the smaller boas that are nice and bright with a clean pattern! I love them as far as looks. just wished they got a little bigger. lol my personal favorite boa of any type is certainly a dumerils!!! Cant go wrong with either of them though jmo.

We love our Hog girl. She is just over 5ft and is very easy for me (female) to handle on my own. She has a great feeding response and an awesome personality. I just give her a few brushes with my mister wand (same principle as a hook) so she knows I am coming in to grab her.

Here is a picture of our girl from a few months ago. Another thing about her, she is extremely strong. I haven't handled an adult dumerils so I can't tell you how they compare, but the boas are a LOT stronger and it seems like they use more muscles in their body than balls or bloods.
