    Freshly shed dumerils boa

She's pretty, and she's grown like crazy since December!!! She gets fed every 5 days and only rejected a meal the first time I offered it to her, so she's a good eater for sure!! I am going to slow her down on eating very soon when she's about 600-700 grams. But here she is!

    Freshly shed dumerils boa

Lovely! But if I'm not mistaken dumerils should be fed less frequently than that. I feed my yearling girl every 10-14 days a weaned rat.

Hmm, my dumerils girl is almost 2 (if the breeder was correct and that back in July of last year she was a year old), and she is 613 grams as of today. I feed her every 7 days a weaned rat. Should I cut her back on feeding?

    Re: Freshly shed dumerils boa

feeding any boa every five days isn't healthy growth! Slow her down for her sake! 0-6 months I feed appropriate sized every 7 days. 6-12 months I feed every 10 days, and after a year its once every 2 weeks. That's my schedule for wanting rapid growth as youngsters. Really should be every 10-14 days for a dumerils of any age imo. However you do have a very good looking dum!

    Re: Freshly shed dumerils boa

Thank you, and the only reason I'm not worried about it is because she deficates just fine. She's not backed up and her head isn't small compared to her body. But I am cutting her back to every 10 days when she hits the 6 month mark (which is actually in a few days).
