    More shots of Sniper.

Barranquilla Colombian BCI. The Barranquilla boas are said to differ in scale counts as well as some other characteristics from other BCI according to Vincent Russo "THE COMPLETE BOA CONSTRICTOR". In his book he explains how the Andes mountains are lower in the region and this is where BCI and BCC boas overlap. This particular boa was bred by Gus Rentfro of Rio Bravo Reptiles and sold to me by Orlando and Joel Diaz of Legacy Reptiles.

It is a BCI boa and a great little guy.

Not a bad tail for a BCI LOL!

    In the cage.

    Have a nice day.

Ha ha!! Actually he is soooooooooo ready to eat. I think he's settled in well, and I may feed him tonight. I know it's earlier than normal but the guys that I bought him from were originally going to send him a week earlier. He has not had a meal in April yet so I think he'll be ready.

I think the look he was giving was,, " I'm going to eat you dude" . I like your version better though LOL!

He hasn't eaten for 3 weeks?? How come? How old is he? If I'm judging his size right, looks like he should be eating every 10 days. And I've not met a BCI that needed to settle in before it would eat.

I'll double check as I think he ate on the 6th. The original plan was he was to be shipped a full week earlier but I was going out of town. They did not want to feed him just prior to shipping so they held off. The Legacy guys are real legit. One of the guys is a DMV and an avian specialist so fear not they were not intentionally keeping him off food for a month. I'm pretty sure he was fed the 6th.

He's in good hands here and I'm going to give him a shot at eating tonight. Then he's guaranteed I won't be bothering him for at least 48 hour LOL! I agree 100% I don't think they have nearly the settle in issues as Royals.

Last edit. He was born 06-27-12. He's about 3' long and 400 grams or a bit more.

    Re: More shots of Sniper.

Yeah, I would go with a 10 day feeding schedule for now. So if he ate on the 6th, I'm sure he's more than looking for a rat. I would have fed him on the 16th, and again the 26th.

    Re: More shots of Sniper.

Yeah I think that was the plan but the shipping dates and the feeding schedule clashed. They were working with a 10-14 schedule at Legacy. I'm with you, tonight is as good as any. He's taking small rats F/T and I'm thawing one out now.

You want to here a screwed up feeding schedule??? Our Royal has not eaten since X-mas eve. I can't tell you how many rats I've tossed. The good news is they don't go to waste. The crows eat them the next morning. I'd rather feed nature than stink up our garbage can.

I totally agree with Doolittle on the feeding. Every 10 days would be good for a BCI this size. And I know Legacy is a good group to work with, but I have to wonder at why he wasn't fed when the shipping got delayed. Oh well, even though he's a baby, skipping a meal won't have hurt him. Less is better with boas and it's water under the bridge now.

And that is one SPECTACULAR baby! Love his color, his look, pattern, EVERYTHING!! Congrats on him!
