    Fasting?

So I've almost had my snake for a year now and he has always been great at eating.... Husbandry is spot on, so why did he just stop eating? It's been almost several weeks now and I don't know wether or not to keep offering food.

Ball pythons do that. Are you feeding him live or f/t? You could offer him every other week, it won't hurt him.
When he's ready he'll eat again. It may have something to do with breeding season as well.

Keep offering no more than once a week. As long as husbandry is all in order he will start to feed again when he's ready.

    Re: Fasting?

You're not alone. Check out my thread I recently posted. Same thing. From what I have read, BPs go off feed around winter and usually start eating again by late spring early summer.

    Re: Fasting?

My males have been off feed since October. I still offer them food every 2-3 weeks, but I honestly don't expect them to eat till May or June. Its been like that every year.

    Re: Fasting?

Thankfully I have three boas and two king snakes who happily scarf up whatever the picky BP's don't want.

If your BP is fasting just weigh it regularly to make sure it's not losing too much weight, as that could be a sign of something wrong instead of the typical BP annual fast.
