    Should I wait to feed?

My mister flooded my tank yesterday, so I had to pull everything out, sterilize, and clean. It would have been the usual weekly feeding day.

I used diluted white vinegar (thoroughly washed off with water after) to sterilize. I feel like between the stress of being a castaway yesterday and the new smells in the tank, she's likely pretty stressed.

Should I wait to feed her? She's new to F/T but has been good about it, and I don't want to start a trend of her not eating. Also, I was planning on upping her from hoppers to full grown mice this go, so that could be a concern. Figure maybe I should let her hunger build a bit.

Thanks in advance for all your expertise!

I'd wait a few days, I think. Let the stress of the mister incident fade away, and since you're sizing up on prey, make sure she's good and hungry. Just my two cents.

    Should I wait to feed?

It probably won't really matter but you can wait a few days if it makes you feel better.

Also, that isn't "sterilizing". That would be sanitizing. Sterilizing is the removal of ALL bacteria, sanitizing is reducing the number of bacteria.

Would you recommend a particular method/product for cage cleaning? I was planning on doing her first monthly cleaning in about a week and making a post asking advice, but this incident didn't give me the time.

What I do is wash the tub/tank with hot soapy water and give it a good scrub. Then, once it's dry, I spray it down with F10 and let it air dry. I do the same procedure with the hides/decor. Then I put everything back and voila!

as for your original question, you can always offer food. She may not take it, but you can still offer it. If you don't want to waste a feeder or don't feel comfortable feeding her on your normal day, hold off a few days or just wait until the next feeding day.

Windex = dangerous? I'm used to keeping fish so maybe I'm a bit hyper paranoid about chemicals, even soap is deadly there.
