First clutch ever being laid right now!

I opened my girl's tub this morning, not expecting to see anything different than what I've been seeing...I was in for a big surprise!!!
Look what greeted me when I opened her tub!

Only 4 eggs are out right now, so I'm going to class and then when I get back I will check on her again.
I'm glad she finally decided to lay, now that she is on day 38!

How many eggs do you think I will get out of this 3000 gram girl? I would LOVE to hit double digits, but honestly I am happy with any eggs!

First clutch ever being laid right now!

I think she might still have one or two left in her, but so far the count is 9 eggs and 1 boob egg!

She is being very defensive. I am going to give her a while more to see if she will lay that last one then I'm going to collect the clutch.

Any tips for taking an angry mom off the eggs?

    Congrats! How exciting!

You can cover her head with a small towel and pick her up.
I suggest rinsing her to remove the egg scent as well as her tub once you've done moving them to the bator.

I usually throw a towel or snake bag over the female and lift her off the eggs. You may have to unwrap her tail from the clutch. Replace the substrate, wash out the tub, etc. Try to feed her tomorrow. The faster you can get her feeding again the faster she'll put weight back on. Very nice sized clutch, congratulations.
