    Switching to Rack

I want to get more balls within the next 60days or so, and i've been really considering ordering a new rack from animal plastics.com.....i have a normal juve ball right now but i am going to the Wheaton expo in May to hopefully pick up at least 2 new balls. So if anyone has any feedback on the Wheaton show and on ordering from Animal Plastics please share... Thanks

    Switching to Rack

I haven't ordered a rack from AP, but I was 100% satisfied with my PVC enclosure from them.

I like mine it is a very old model but it is great. Just remember racks get a good deal of the temp control from the room ambient temps they simply do not work well in rooms below 76ºF.

I have nothing against AP racks...but if you are planning to expand in the next 60 days...you won't have a rack ready. Order from Reptile Basics...they will ship the same week!

Make sure you expand your collection safely. What I mean by that is you should properly quarantine your new animals. I guess if you buy a rack you could house two new snakes in the top and bottom tubs. Make sure to keep your current snake away from the rack for AT LEAST 60-90 days. Put the rack on the other side of the room or in your closet. Good luck.

Also thanks for the recommendations everyone, I have done more research and decided to order a hatchling rack from Chris at Cserpents.com. I just ordered it a few minutes ago and i'm pretty excited for it to get here!!!

    Switching to Rack

I would suggest that 90 days is far too short. In light of new evidence about para virus and Ibd I would suggest 6 months as a minimum. Shorter perhaps if para and Ibd have been tested for but most find the tests expensive.
