    Incubator - Almost Done

So I picked up the fridge today for $20, gotta love CL. It sucks that it was a working fridge with zero wrong with it, especially for that price, however it was cheaper than a cooler, so I went with it. Pulled out everything, both inside and out, and ran ran the heat tape and thermostat. I went to Best Buy, Target, Office Depot and Walgreens (on the suggestion of someone who'd seen some there) looking or a small USB fan, however no one had any. I bought on online for around $14 shipped and will be installing it once it gets in. I have yet to decide if I will put it on the top, side or bottom. Any advice from someone who's put it somewhere aside from the top and had problems as a result of fan placement? Here's what I've got so far. Since the thermostat and heat tape were already laying around they didn't cost me a thing. Looks like the total cost for this will be under $40 for me. Can't complain about that!

    Taking off the compressor:

Running heat tape and t-stat probe:

Waiting for addition of fan and secondary thermometer:

I'll put up more pictures once I get my fan installed and complete the build. Any input/thoughts/advice on how I can make this as good as is possible are welcomed.

Looks good so far! I always place my fan at the top but at the bottom blowing up would help circulate the heat as well. A few water bottles would help keep the heat when you have to open the door to check and other then that hopefully it will be full of eggs soon!

I will be putting probably about half a dozen water bottles in the door of the fridge and was thinking of putting the fan on the bottom just to maximize space on top, although if I can't double stack the tubs that I will be putting eggs into then it won't really matter anyway. I'm expecting one clutch this year but with any luck should get three next year. It was amazing that after I ripped out the compressor and associated parts how light it was! I'd say that it now weighs half as much, max.
