Heating Q

So I bought a regular human heat pad from WalMart yesterday. My question is, am I supposed to put the heating pad cover on it and then put it underneath the tank? Does it matter?

If you are heating a plastic enclosure I'd put the cover on - heck I put em on for glass too. Either way make sure you jack the enclosure up off the surface a little bit so the heat doesnt pool unnecessarily.

I agree i use the cloth cover too. It helps to spread out the heat. Also test out the different settings. The heat pad i have reaches its highest temp on the low setting and the lowest temp on the hi setting. (made in taiwan) LOL.

I wound up with a couple that were reverse-wired like that as well, hehe, so it's not as uncommon a fluke as you might think.
