His racks are awesome. I have one for hatchlings and subadults, but the large adult racks are pretty pricey so I made my own (I just posted pics in the DIY section).

Is the 4" belly heat enough? What temp do you keep the room at?

Mine is the back heat and my room stays in the low 70s. I haven't had any problems with keeping the tubs 90 on the hot side and about 79ish on the cool side with an ambient temp of 79-81 degrees and humidity fluctuates between 50-55%!

I have both the CB70 and the sweaterbox rack. I love them both! Fast shipping, excellent product. I couldn't be more pleased. Also, I found the 4 in tape is fine.

    Re: good rack?

but what is your ambient room temp? I was thinking I might need two strips one in the front and one in the back set to different temps to acheive the gradient and the ambients. Or possibly the 12" so it covers a bigger portion of the tub. Everyone on here seems to say the the 4" strip is enough, but are you kepping the rack in a 80 degree room?

My room is naturally 79-82 degrees because I have 3 racks and a tank (with a heat lamp) in this room. However, when it's been cooler outside, I've been opening the window and getting the ambient temp to 75 or so. I've not had any issues. The heat tape does nothing to ambient temperature. All the heat tape does is provide a hot spot and you don't need/want two hot spots in your inclosure. You're going to have to heat the room to at least 75 no matter what size heat tape you use.
