    Light Bulbs burning out quickly?

Is it just me, or do those Zilla and Zoo Med bulbs burn out incredibly quickly. I've only had my BP since January 7th and I've already replaced the day bulb once, and I'm about to go buy my 3rd night bulb. I'm thinking of switching to a CHE, but they are even more expensive and don't want to be replacing that every month either. Do they tend to last longer?

I have seen che's last 10 years ... A way better investment imo.

Are you using both bulbs in the same fixture? Switching out bulbs daily will drastically shorten their lifespan because of constant heating up and cooling down. If you only have one fixture then just stick with a black or red light bulb on for 24hrs.

I had I think 5 zilla night bulbs burn out on me in a single week.. I also had the big 150 wat ones keep shattering. I evuantly gave up and used the red 100 wat, has been on non stop for about 7 months and still going strong. I have heard of the bulbs mentioned Bove but I've had luck with the red night ones.

I have a fixture on a timer that has both a day and night bulb in it, and then a separate smaller fixture that now has a CHE in it. We'll see how it works out.

    Thanks Everyone!

If they are getting moved around frequently they wont last long. the movement jiggles the filament & it burns out. Many people say the CHE are great I bought one last year & it lasted a month. I just use the red heat lamps now & let them run 24/7
