GTP vs ETB vs ATB?
I'm looking into purchasing my first arboreal snake in the next few weeks and have been doing some research, but can't seem to make a decision. Should I go with a GTP, ETB or ATB as my first? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
I currently have a pastel ball python and a blood python so I know this will be a whole new ball game/experience.
Sorry for posting in the ball python section, but this forum seems to get the most viewers.
Thanks!

I own both GTPs and ATBs and they are both very different species, but both very rewarding. I have two of each. I have one nippy one and one handleable one so be prepared for bites. The arboreal snakes are much less docile than ball pythons, and even blood pythons.
I have no experience with ETBs. They are beautiful, but it might be their teeth that freaks me out a little bit haha.
I can't say which one you would like more, but I do like the personality and handleability of my ATB more than my GTP. But I like looking at my GTPs way more. I don't think I could choose between the two. Its too hard!
As for husbandry, I'd say ATBs are much easier. They love to eat and don't need as strict humidity requirements as GTPs or ETBs. They don't really need HIGH humidity as much as they need a good humidity cycle. Misting once or twice a day, allowing the enclosure to dry out in between is preferable. I would also suggest housing in a PVC enclosure as glass tanks are a nightmare for keeping high humidity. Stuck shed can be an issue with these guys if your humidity isn't right.

Thanks for the input! That seems to be what I'm reading the most, ATB are easier to care for and seem to be the best bet for a first arboreal. I'm just so attracted to the beauty of the GTP and ETB. Both have been my dream snake for so long.
Also, do you recommend any breeders?
Thanks again!

Re: GTP vs ETB vs ATB?
I recently got a GTP, and I just love him. They are so neat to look at and watch, I could stare at him all day. He is definitely a learning experience for me. Entirely different than my balls and boas. Mine is still a neo, so I can't handle him yet. So far, he hasn't struck at me yet, either. Here he is-

I have had two gtp. The first was a very nippy young biak that suddenly died. It would bite me every chance it got. My current one I got as an adult and is a very nice aru. I can usually handle him without any problems but he still tags me from time to time and you just need to understand that it most likely will happen to you when dealing with any of your choices. The gtp bite is not that bad even tough their teeth are pretty long and very sharp, they are nothing compared to a etb though. I have handled one before but she was not to be trusted like I do with my aru.
I would vote gtp. I think they are a good option of best looks and attitude. I do want a etb but I'm glad I started with a gtp.
