Acrylic display

We were in the market for some displays but couldn't find any that we liked. We came across Boaphile's youtube videos but unfortunately they don't seem to be selling them. It's a good thing then that this site has turned me into something of a DIYer.

This is more of a "look what I made" than a how-to due to how complex this project turned out to be. I wish I could say that this was quick and easy, but that was absolutely not the case. This was a PITA and took forever!

I definitely learned some new tricks while trying to work with this material. It's not perfect, but I think it turned out okay.


Stand



The back opens to allow access to the thermostat and heat tape that is going to be under there.



4 levels, each with 4 removable dividers.

That is a really nice job! I work with plastics and recognize how fiddly that can be. Really nice work.

I wonder what would happen if you had a logo under it? If you would see it through.

Oh dumb substrate ... on the back wall inside. Might look cool, worth a try to see.

I have played around with plastic and it makes me want to punch something. :o

I always seem to drip solvent or always seem to get bubbles under a hinge. Drives me nuts.

These guys have an interesting idea. It might be easier for you skulls... Theirs looks like it is pinned no glue why it folds flat. They clearly use a laser cutter however it makes all the joints easier.

Great idea! I was going to line the bottom/back with shelf liner or something anyway so that you can't see inside of the stand. Now I just need to get a logo lol
