what are some beautiful bp's in the 300 range give or take 50

im goingto be picking up a male tomorrow whom will be used in later years for some breeding projects.

    its a huge reptile expo

im not to good with prices of ball pythons yet and im open to alot of different snakes, i like nearly all looks - but obviously a male that can produce some cool things is always a plus

Spend some time on kingsnake.com, that should give you a good idea of prices and morphs and you'll get to see pics.

for later breeding? make a short list of the features you want.
    What female(s) do you have?
    What are you shooting for?
For profit, self sustainability, or glory.

Morphs I'd want for $300 for breeding:

    Lesser
    Butter
    Mojave
    Enchi
    Het Pied
    Het Albino

I'd want a leucy if I were to breed.
Or brighter, high contrasts, clean on the banding
    1.1 Ball Pythons (Python regius)
1.0 Brazilian Rainbow Boa (Epicrates cenchria cenchria)
    0.1 Boa constrictor imperator
1.0 Pac man frog (Cerotophrys cranwelli)
0.1 Green Water Dragon (Physignathus cocincinus)
1.0 Scottish Terrier (Canis domenticus poopus muchus)

well none at the moment, i have a regular ball python which is a male.i want to get another male and then worry about the female.

but its a combination of glory and profit. im relatively new. and why het albino?

the only albino i like so far is the lavender albino. if there are anything similiar to that im yet to see besides the complete white ones.
i love the lessers, mohave is up there with it. firefly pastels are super nice but i know thats real expensive.

Don't start out with males. Females take much longer to grow.I feel like you're a kid trying to make a buck. Maybe do more research and spend more time with your animals before you move on to breeding

Re: what are some beautiful bp's in the 300 range give or take 50

Start with females. It takes approximately 2-3 years to grow a female hatchling to sexual maturity. It takes a male 6 months- year to do the same. You wait less if you have a female first. (Unless you plan on buying adult breeder sized girls in the future, but they're more expensive. Girls gain value as they age.)

Plus, morphs go down in price every year. By time that girl is ready to breed or close to breeding, the male morphs you want now will probably be even cheaper then.

You also always want more females than males. Its better and more efficient in the long run.

At the show i'm sure you could find a lesser or mojave female for 300-350. or if it's fireflies you want you may be able to find a fire male and a nice pastel female in the same price range.

Re: what are some beautiful bp's in the 300 range give or take 50

If I were you, and sure you want a male, Id DEFINATELY go with a double gene animal. You can get so much more out of your projects with multi gene animals. Even if the female was a normal, you can still have three different hatchlings. If the female was a morph, or even a multigene animal as well, soooo many more doors are opened Here are just a few suggestions:
    pewter
    lemon blast
    bumblebee
    firefly
    jigsaw
ALL THAT SLITHERS - Ball Python aficionado/keeper
breeder of African soft fur Rats. Keeper of other small exotic mammals.
    10 sugar gliders

    2 tenrecs
    5 jumping spiders
    paludarium with fish
    Brisingr the albino
    Snowy the BEL
    Piglet the albino conda hognose

FINALLY got my BEL,no longer breeding snakes. married to mechnut450..

Re: what are some beautiful bp's in the 300 range give or take 50

generally what is advised as the best and most effective way to start a small BP breeding operation is:

Get nice females first, good looking single-gene females or two-gene if you can afford. Female enchi is never a bad choice, or female pinstripe or female mojave.

males are generally cheaper, and reach sexual maturity faster. And you need one male for (opinions differ) 2 or 3 (or even 4) females. So once your females get mature, get a decent 2-gene or even 3-gene male.

if you want to go into recessive, lets say clown or whatever, basically you do the same: start with female het clowns, once they are mature get a visible male clown.

its jst the most cost-effective way to start i think. one powerhouse male and 3 single-gene females, thats just 4 snakes to keep, but can produce up to 3 clutches of eggs per year. and the money you invest in genetics goes mainly towards the male, where the genes are cheaper and the effect of the investment is tripled.

I'd get a real nice Bumblebee or Lemonblast, can't go wrong with an enchi either.
    Absolutely obsessed with ball pythons!
