So happy this whole week i have been on pins and needles. my bcc regurged and i found out why. So when i did feed him i gave him a few days to relax and digest the food. usally around 3 days then i tried to handle him and got a regurge in the tank. well i was told to wait 3 weeks and i didnt. i know i know shame on me, but i had a feeling i handled too soon and he was getting over mites whitch are gone now. . So sunday i decided to grab a small rat 24g. when he is 4 foot and only 390g. he took it after a minute of smelling it. well when he did he started eating it at the throat. let me tell you what a cool site to see a snake bend its food in half when eating it. well i gave him a few extra days and woke up thursday morning to an awfel smell. i get up at 2 am for work and just took a quick look. it looked like poo. well all day i was nurvious because it smelt so bad. i got home an sure enough poo. he is keeping his food down. mites are gone. and i couldnt be happier. now time to get some weight on him.
he used to be like a machine gun if i put him on the floor. he would come right after me and was fine if he was in my hand. i think he was just hungry because now i can put him on the floor, he isnt skittish like he used to be, he explores his tank alot, and man does he love to climb. night and day from my dumerils. he has some crazy pinks and reds on his skin. just couldnt be happier at how he finally settled in and now is holding food down.
he already shed prob due to the mites and his nose does not look so dry anymore. its nice and shiny and it is almost like i have a different snake than what i came home with a month ago.
