    Poop question =D

My little Eros hasn't pooped in the 2 months I've had him, and I don't think I've seen urates either...maybe it disappears into the paper towels? I don't know his exact weight but he's a great eater, he gets 2 small mice a week and he's had at least 8 mice by now but no poop! I do a "sniff-check" every day and nothing ever smells funky so I'm assuming he hasn't been going. Over the past few days I've noticed how bloated he's gotten, and the slightly pink bulge above his vent has gotten more and more noticeable. He's not showing any signs of going into shed btw. I'd been hoping for him to go on his own, but tonight I decided I should lend a hand. I didn't soak him completely; just his tail area, and massaged it underwater for about 5 minutes and he finally went (Never thought I'd be relieved to see poop -_-) My question is really more for future reference.. Now, I know it's common for them to hold it in for months but the pinkish bulge really concerned me and I was worried about the possibility of constipation or compaction. So in a case where a hard bulge is visible, is it advisable to soak and massage them to help it pass? Or should I have just left it alone and let it run its course?

I would have soaked him too. It really depends n how long it's been since the last time they've pooped and how long the bump's been there.

That long I would have soaked too! A month isn't usually too terribly long, but I like to makes sure that I start monitoring them after a month if they don't poop. I think 5-weeks you could stand to soak, especially if he's looking ready to go... I've had babies go a long time without poop while they were growing faster than I could keep track of!
