    Is this a normal weight?

So I have a new baby bp. It's approximately 6-8 wks old and I weighed her for the first time today. She's 76g. Is that a normal weight for one her age? She seems thin to me because the circumference of her body is more triangular then round but I am not familiar with them when they're this young. I'm not worried about her because she's eating well and getting lots of fluids. I just want to know the normal range so I can measure progress.

Well, its hard to say if that's a "normal" weight, given so many variables that could affect her current weight(ie., hatch weight, whether or not she ate at every offering, prey size, how often she was fed, etc) With that being said, I would think that if she was offered food a bit after she had her first shed, actually ate, and then was offered food every five days and actually ate what was offered, I would think shed be more than 76g. But then again, Its hard to tell, because she may have refused every meal offered until recently, or been given a maintenance diet. Youd have to get more info from where you got her from. However, if shes eating great for you now, shell gain weight and fill out in no time Hope this helps.

Hmmm the thing is where I got her from is no source of info. I got her from a friend who had a room mate that abandoned his pet snakes. There was the Mother and 2 hatchlings left behind. As far as my friend knows neither hatchling ate anything prior to our rescue. I've had her for 2 wks and am offering 2 fuzzy mice every 3 days. She's eating like a champ and this week I'll be up sizing her food. I've seen her drinking and by the dirt she drags through the water I can tell she soaks herself. That brings me to the other thing. When I picked her up she showed evidence of a bad shed. One eye cap still attached and some loose skin around the neck. I'm waiting on the next shed before seeking vet care and diligently watching humidity levels. But... I'm inexperienced and wouldn't know if there was a problem. What do I look for?

If I ever have stuck shed I take a tupperware with air holes at the top, and put a layer of warm water (enough to steam once you close the lid) and close them in there for about 10 minutes. Not too high though you don't want them swimming. If that doesn't work I put the into a pillowcase and let that sit in a thin layer of warm water. Don't overly soak the bag because they still need to breath. But the combo of warm water and rubbing against the fabric has worked every single time for me hands down
Besides that your snake seems extremely healthy and I wouldn't worry
