Babys are always hungry.. Mine does it too.. I have a critter keeper with a couple feeders next to her cage and the shelf below her.. She routinely sticks her nose in the corner closest to them..

Just feed appropriate size and keep to a schedule

    Re: snake likes to eat

It's good to let them be hungry for a day or two, digest the previous meal. Feeding every 3 days is to soon, stick to at least 4 with hatchlings and I usually go with 5 days between feedings.

I feel ya. Allure will keep wandering a day or two before each feeding day. On feeding day I will get stared down till the mouse shows up. I'm amazed at how quickly he is growing.

It's not good to feed them whenever they're hungry. Being opportunistic feeders, like most other snakes, if the conditions are right they will eat what's there. Because they don't know when their next meal will be. It's healthy for them to have at least a week between meals at that age, maybe 5 days if it's a ravenous hatchling.

Stick to a 5-7 day schedule for feeding. That's how they evolved, and that's how they are healthy.

As long as the feeder is an appropriate size (10-15% body weight of snake), they can wait 5 or so days. Some people feed more often than that days but 5 is good, as is 7. Just don't go any longer than a week between feedings. Babies need the food and will almost definitely take whatever they can get.

Same here. 10-15% every 5 days until 500 grams then 7-10 days there after of appropriate sized rat.

I am a fan of appropriate size prey every 4 days up to 700ish grams then every 8.

Makes for an easier schedule. The big ones get fed every other feeding and the small ones every feeding.
