What do you know about bp thought?

I was watching my new hatchling eat today and noticed that she was not intimidated by me at all. I've only had her for a week and this is the second time she's been fed. As I watched I thought what is she thinking right now? Oh Yum! Quit staring at me! damn I wish my head would quit wobbling. etc... I realize that they don't think in human language and don't have human emotion but do you suppose they think at all? I mean they must have fear at least. So if they could speak our language what do you suppose they think of us? We pick them up. We feed them, give them water, and maintain their home. We also introduce them to new things by playing with them and letting them hang out with us. So there must be some thought process going on in the snake's brain. What do you think is the extent of that thought?

Interesting stuff to ponder....I don't know how much like us they actually think....but my pinstripe loves falling asleep in my lap (at least I think he snoozes off...lowered resp rate, and he stops moving and flicking his tongue)...he also likes to sit and watch me at my desk which is about 6 feet from his T8....

See that's what I mean. Obviously he has some form of bond with you or he would be trying to flee which tells me that they experience trust. If he watches you then I think it's reasonable to assume he experiences curiosity too. My dog doesn't speak English but she understands simple commands and she does her best to talk to me. lol I know snakes are about as simple minded as they come but they must have some intelligence or they wouldn't be able to survive. When I brought Skarlette home I was worried because she's so young and looked way too thin to me but she's in a primo viv and seems to appreciate it. I see the evidence of her moving through the warm water dish and slithering around the substrate. She's already picked a favorite hide but comes out sometimes when I watch her. After only a week she already seems comfortable and content. Maybe it's my imagination but if they can experience simple thought then maybe they can be trained to do simple things. Just a thought.
