    Nme or no name?

I named by BPs because i consider them my pets but as it turns out i NEVER mention their name. I just say what morph they are.My normal is the only one with a name I use. Do you actually call your snakes by their names or just call them random names?

    Re: Nme or no name?

It depends on the snake. Most of my adults I refer to by their names, but most of the babies I refer to by morph..mainly because some of them aren't named yet lol. I also have nicknames for a few of them.

I name my snakes. Mostly cause it's fun to name things.

I use their names... granted some of their names are their morhps... ("Mojo" the mojave, "Cinny" the cinnamon, and now "Honey" the honeybee).
Why keep a snake? Why keep any animal? Because you enjoy the animal, find something beautiful and fascinating about it, and it fits seamlessly into your lifestyle.

    Re: Nme or no name?

I use all their names, mostly because Ive always gone with the rule, if it gets to the point where i can no longer name them or remember their names its time to stop collecting. But as an art student i made each of them name tags for the front of their tubs with their morph and gender and little doodles and stuff. But some of them do have.. odd.. names.. Troilus and Criseyde.. Yeahhh I like english.. >.>

Every critter I have is named and I use those names. To me, they are more than breeding stock or a collection - they are part of the family. I suppose I'd rethink things a bit if I had a truly large number, but I have no plans to have 100 snakes and/or geckos. My breeding groups are and always will be much smaller. So names are how each one is identified.

Although, on the forums here, I do sometimes refer to the one I'm talking about as "my male Argentine" or something like that, in the long run, I can't imagine not calling them by name.

    Re: Nme or no name?

My snakes have names but it depends on my mood. If they leave a big poop for me right when I'm about to go to school their name becomes mcpoopface. Except not poop but a different word.

Some have real names, and others end up developing names so I can refer to them (i.e. Big Girl or Ghana Girl). All my non-balls have names, as they are not as plentiful, but generally just refer to them by their species, except for my larger carpet, Rousseau, whom everybody knows or remembers over the others
