    Firefly vs Super pastel

So here the thing, I have a firefly male, but when I compare it to a firefly and super pastel pictures, it really looks more like a super pastel than a firefly so I have no idea if it's really a firefly or super pastel, it doesn't get brighter after it shed like what fires do when they shed, it has more browning or dark yellow happening at the back and some orange on the side, on what I see on the net, the fireflies have very vibrant yellow

The seller told me the parents were fire x pastel, but he wasn't sure since he just got it from another person who bought it from some breeder so technically i got it as fourth hand, I posted its pictures so you can be the judge if what is what, and if someone might have both the super pastel and firefly in their collection, can you post the pictures for comparison if you don't mind. any kind or form of help will be great! and thank you in advance!

    he's already 8months old and at 700grams

he is also newly shed on the pictures

here's a pic of him without a flash

    Firefly vs Super pastel

Its tough because combos with Pastel or Fire, or in this case both, vary soooo much depending on the example of the morphs used to make the combo.

Its also hard being a 4th hand snake. IMO that looks more like a Firefly than a Super Pastel. Looks to be, for lack of a better word, a "poor" example of a Firefly. And again i hate using that term.

Theres some ppl on here with VERY nice examples of both Fireflys and Super Pastels and hopefully they can post pics to show how much variance there is

    Firefly vs Super pastel

I feel as if that is either a super pastel or a lower quality firefly... It is hard to tell honestly.

Here is my 2010 super pastel boy at 900g

Here is my 2012 female firefly at about 450 grams

The Only way to know for sure is to breed it! Have you tried getting in contact with the breeder who produced it?

Newly shed I'd say a Super Pastel that has browned out. FireFly's don't generally brown out- they just seem to get more black speckling over time. It looks like typical Pastel-ish browning out to me.

    2012, 0.1 Super Pastel @ 600g

    2012, 0.1 FireFly @ 550g

You are going to have to breed it to determine its genetic makeup. I would lean towards super pastel as well but the pairing you listed would not produce that. I am sure fireflies can brown out just like pastels. I have never seen one brown out though.

I want to say firefly because of the pattern, pastels are typically pretty busy, and fires typically clean other morphs up a bit. But, I'm not sold one way or the other, you'll have to let us know what babies you get out of him!

Looks like an excellent pastel to me.
