    Oh no, not another addiction!

My boyfriend and I headed to the Havre de Grace show today to pick up aspen and more F/T rats for our boa, and I wanted to look around at the ratsnakes/other snakes, because we have a 40 breeder that is sitting empty in the corner of his room. I've been planning to get another snake...

But we walked by a table with bearded dragons. I've never particularly wanted one, but as I looked over the containers to see what was in there, they ALL looked up at us at the exact same time with their heads to the side and I just MELTED. It was SOOOO cute!! The guy chatted with us and let us hold a few of his beardies, and both my boyfriend and I agreed that we HAD to get one as soon as we re-fix up the tank we have (it's set up for a snake, so we need to tweak some things, so we couldn't bring one home with us today). We love our snake, and I still want more in the future, but we both really like the idea of having a reptile that can be a little more mobile, as in be carried around the house on our shoulders or be taken outside for a good period of time. Plus, since it would have to live at my bf's house, we think his mom will be a little more accepting of something that DOESN'T eat frozen rodents.

Just a few pics of our first beardie experience! Neither myself nor my boyfriend had EVER held one before.
Me with the 2 year-old male he brought for show. I can't remember the morph, it's a Citrus something. He was CRAZY bright! (It was SO hot in the show room, hence my bright-red face. )

And then my boyfriend with a younger male, a Leatherback. I think he looks good with a beardie!

I know! I wish I had known just how awesome they are, I would've gotten one (or more ) sooner.
As it is we're already wanting two since we have a 40 gal. breeder. We're going for two females, since we don't want babies and we don't want fights.

Spent the day looking at houses. A primary consideration is the ability to add multiple herp rrooms. I might end up partially finishing a basement.

I can see that. The way they tilt their heads and look at you, or like how if you rub around their face they close their eyes! They're like scaly dogs that can sit on your shoulder, haha!

    I love both of mine!
I have a red male and a female leatherback. She takes a lil more work and care but is an absolute sweetheart!

Just bought over 5 grand worth of snakes though so should prob wait awhile an finish settin up their new tubs and racks first before I get any more critters

I wish I had $5k to drop on more pets! My boyfriend put his foot down on me getting a red ratsnake at the show (it was only $30!! ), but then again if he had let me we wouldn't be able to get the beardies.

If I have money and I see animals within said amount of money I need other people to drag me away kicking and screaming from the tables.

    Oh no, not another addiction!

Haha! I love beardies!! We used to have a couple of them. When I'd say 'Are you guys hungry?' They'd both hop off their basking rock and run over to the sliding door track and wait. And they each have their own distinct personality so cute!

    These were our beardies

The one on the right was a leatherback.
