    sharp albino rtb

Sorry this might sound like a silly question but someone is selling a male albino shap boa. They want 250$ for it and says they have papers from "frank" from boa revolution. Said the snak was.from a sunglow clutch. What exactly does it mean if its sharp. And isnt a sunglow just a hypo albino? Also is this a good price for juvy/ baby red tail? Thanks chris. Ohh i can upload a pic of it later

There are different lines of albinos for boas. Kahl doesn't hold its color very well as an adult, where Sharp really does. So basically Sharp is just a better line of albino. I personally think $250 might be a little much. Browse kingsnake and you can find sunglows for not much more.

You are correct that Sunglow is an Albino Hypo. Sharp sunglows are much better looking than Kahl, and more expensive.

Oh, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So you might actually like Kahl's better. I just had to add that. Personally I like quality, so I like the Sharp strain.

Check out kingsnake . com. That seems like a high price for just an albino. Sharp or not. Especially when you can get an awesome sunglow for $350.

Just an edit. I do see some on there for that price. But they are breeding size adults. Not "baby/juv."

I am glad you added that bit about beauty being in the eye of the beholder. I would propose that quality is too.

I believe the Kahl strain holds color just as well as the Sharp line. The Kahls tend to have more distinct orange and peach show up in the markings so a Kahl albino will tend to be more yellow as an adult. The Sharps will have pinker markings which will fade more as adults. So while the Kahls will be more yellow, the Sharps will show less distinction in their markings as adults.

The Sharp line is harder to come by, but not necesarily "better". But since it's more rare in the hobby, it usually commands a higher price. I actually think 250 is not a bad price at all for a Sharp albino. Most of the Kahl albinos I've seen were around 180-200, so 250 would be pretty acurate for a Sharp. Boa Evolution are not a bad guys. I've talked with them at some shows and I believe they works with Sharp lines exclusively. If this baby was from a Sunglow litter, it simply means that Sunglows were also produced in the litter. A sunglow is a hypo albino - which is considered much more desirable than just an albino since sunglows retain significant bold coloring on into maturity - including in the Kahl lines.

For reference, here is my Kahl line coral sunglow arabesque baby. One could say I was biased, but in my personal opinion, she is one of the best quality sunglows I've laid eyes on - either Kahl or Sharp.

She is one of the best I will admit. But she has much more than just Kahl albino going on to be fair. LOL
